Series Title: Portrait of a Region

Description: Portrait of a Region is a competition for 14-19 year olds across the North East to capture what makes our region so special on film. From the local chippy to the cityscape, the Shoe Tree to the Sage Gateshead, we are looking for films of any style on any format, that showcase young peoples’ favourite places, people or experiences. The films must be no longer than one minute and the best will be screened at the Juice Festival during October half-term in a specially designed mobile cinema Art Car. The winner will receive a master class at the Tyneside Cinema with an industry professional of their choice. Portrait of a Region is part of a nationwide project called Portrait of a Nation, an initiative to get young people talking about their heritage and identity. www.portraitofanation.net
