OUR SCRIPTSSAVE SOS is searching Europe for the screenwriters and producers of tomorrow.
Are you a producer looking for emerging writing talent?
Are you a screenwriter looking to connect with producers and the film industry at large?
OVERVIEW
SOS is an advanced script development programme for screenwriters and producers, from across Europe.
It is composed of three residential workshops, in the UK, France, and Belgium, and a number of one to one online meetings.
From April to December writers will develop their selected one page idea through to a feature length script. Alongside this producers take part in the development process offering them the opportunity to strengthen their own development skills whilst simultaneously building relationships with the writers and other producers.
Each workshop will consist of group development sessions, one to one meetings, and master classes with experienced industry figures, including writers, producers, financiers and sales companies.
SOS has been created by The Bureau Film Company who founded and ran Cinema Extreme the UKs most prestigious and successful short film scheme. The Producers behind The Bureau have a long track record of working with emerging, distinctive and international talent, such as Lynne Ramsay, Asif Kapadia, Alexis Dos Santos, Fabienne Berthaud, Christian Carion, Fabienne Godet, Rachid Bouchareb, and BillyO'Brien.
THE COURSE
The course is divided into two parts. During the initial development 16 projects with writers are developed from a one page idea to a long treatment. At this stage 6 projects will go forward to the final development phase, at
which point 6 producers will enter the programme. This second phase will see the long treatment developed to a full length script ready to go forward to financiers for feedback.
Aside from the developed script another key aim of SOS is to build producers development skills, and furthermore allow the writers and producers to foster relationships that can be sustained throughout their careers.
WHO CAN APPLY
Writers must be able to display the strength of their writing ability, but can not have had more than one feature film produced.
